The application of net-metering is offered to users of solar panel systems in most states. Net-metering is the process in which your solar panels are producing unused energy. In this case, the electricity is channeled out to the municipal power lines and is integrated into the utility’s available power. The utility will purchase this surplus power from you and in most cases the payments are credited at the current retail rate for standard electricity. This is a great benefit as it helps to decrease what you pay for grid electricity in the hours when your system is unable to generate power… and not to mention, IT’S CLEAN!!! |
